This piece emphasizes a child's inherent respect for other living beings and reminds us that what we need to grow is love.
I’m a tree and this is how my story begins and ends. .
First, I started as a seed in a quiet tree farm.
I tried to grow up, but I could not.
I was different, but that was what I liked about me.
I stood still, but no one wanted me
until one day a girl finally picked me.
She planted me in the soil in her backyard,
and this is how my story began.
The bugs crawl up my branches,
the squirrels pass by,
as the years pass by, birds build nests in my branches.
I am loved.
Eventually I die,
and the girl is sad for me.
My last breath was peaceful.
The girl’s love for me was so big,
I came back to life.

My Friends Make Me Happy
So encouraging and honest. I love that he did a video of himself reading it.
